About NOINOWhat is NOINO? NOINO is a comic created and drawn by artist Jessica Jaffe (preffered to be known as Suiko Hibi or Hisui Kirei). Here is a "back-page" description: "Thinking she's just too obsessed with shoujo manga, Jade's friend's dismiss her strange dream of a handsome prince come to take her away. However, Jade isn't sure what to believe as her dreams become reoccuring films of a raging war on another world. Is she the one destined to save this world from its cruel war or it will it be completely obliterated?" Noino is intended for at least TEEN audiences. The content shown can be a little mature as it deals with war and politics. The humor added can range from slapstick to crude. Sex and violence are also slightly suggested even if not shown. Disgression is advised. How did it come about? NOINO was an original concept though up over years of modifications to a group fancomic idea. That fancomic was for the ever popular Dragon Ball Z. However, the ideas spured by some fangirls started another idea. After 5 years of modification the artist finally finalized her comic idea, which is very different from Toriyama's work. So, to be honest, NOINO does have a couple of relating themes to DBZ (i.e. heroine from distant planet and holds hidden powers) but plot, characters, races, and classes are all the artist's own. In a sense, Akira Toriyama's work was the starting inspiration for this comic. But the works of CLAMP, Rumiko Takahashi, Yu Watase, Bisco Hatori, and Dina Situ are also inspirations(for their greatness and style). So, I, the artist wish to thank my favorite artists for giving me inspiration! (Especially Dina, since her push was personal! =D) |
